We launched our Sesquicentennial Year with this video on Jan. 1, 2012. In it, we tried to illustrate our milestone by showing other things that came about in 1862 — including the invention of the refridgerator, the introduction of plastics, the first images of the modern Santa Claus and the first bicycle — all things that are so commonplace today we rarely think about their beginnings.

Of course, we took a good hard look at our humble beginnings, and celebrated 150 years of Lakeland College at the All-College Reunion.
