Lisa Hendricks '91

I received my BA in English in 1991 from Lakeland College. My time at Lakeland College includes some of the best times of my life. I went on to receive my degree as a Registered Nurse, working many years in behavioral health services and becoming certified as a palliative/hospice nurse. Throughout my years in nursing, I had many people ask me how I ended up in nursing since I had a degree In English from Lakeland College. It didn't make sense, they said. To me, it made perfect sense.

At Lakeland I had the privilege of learning that the world is not black and white; the world is gray and there is never a perfect answer to any question. Respect for the individual is key to true success in life. These lessons have been the basis of my nursing career and how I live my life.

Thank you, Lakeland College.
