After graduating from another college in 1990 in Political Science I had a difficult time finding a job that I wanted as a career. I decided to go back to school. I first completed two years at Fox Valley Tech to get my associates degree in accounting. Then I enrolled at Lakeland to obtain my B.A. in accounting in the adult evening program. I attended the majority of classes at the former St. Mary's High School in Menasha and after going to school from Fall of 1996 (including summer of 1997) I graduated in December 1997 with a GPA of over 3.8. I received my CPA and have worked at a top 5 CPA firm for over 12 years. I am currently working at Kersten Accounting & Tax, LLC in Shawano as a Senior Tax Accountant. I also serve on the WICPA Federal Tax Committee and Wisconsin Tax Committee.

I enjoyed my time at Lakeland and the teachers were all top rate. It was the best career move I could have made. I just wish I would have choosen Lakeland College earlier in my life.
