I first want to thank the school for making it easy for non-traditional students to finish their education. If it was not for Lakeland providing evening and weekend classes in Green Bay, Wisconsin I would not of finished my bachelors degree. I always tell everyone I went to the school of hard knocks before I finished my education but it was worth the effort. Working 40 hours a week and taking 12 credits a semester, I knew how important this education was and I did my best to learn as much as possible. I was so proud to graduate and in the beginning I challenged myself to graduate with honors, which I did.
I spent 22 years in manufacturing and when we moved to New Mexico I got a job at New Mexico State University (NMSU). That was quite a change for me but also a welcome one. I am the Director of the student union at NMSU. I have the opportunity to work with students and hopefully help to shape their futures.
To all the non-traditional students you have helped through the years, a big THANK YOU.
